In Home Economics This term we have been learning about food in different countries. I have been working with Daisy. We chose the  Cook Islands. Here is a google slide of what we have done.

Textiles:Batik

In textiles this term we have been doing all sorts things.This is the one I have done,it's called Batik.It was very difficuilt but I got used to it while I was doing it,It didn't exactly turn out the way I wanted it to but it was close enough.That's alright because everyone else thinks it's ment to be like how my turned out.
First I drew some pictures of my idea on a peice of paper that I wanted to do,It is a picture of a girl.Secondly I draw my design on fabric with glue then painted it.I waited for it to draw than I put it in hot water to get rid of the glue so it wasn't slimy and you can see where the glue lines are,but It didn't really work out how I wanted it to.I actually like what I have done and I'm proud of myself.I really enjoy doing these type of things bvecause it's fun and I'm really concentrated in my work.

"Movies are better than Books"

Movies:

Watching movies is better than reading books?I think this because movies are more entertaining and you can understand the characters more on how they're feeling.But in some ways books are important because they give you more description on how the characters are feeling,and you can use your imagination to what the're doing.

Movies are great,you can enjoy them by watching with your friends and family or even by yourself,however you can also pause the movie if you wanted to get some food or something to drink.There may be some movies that are boring,and that do not interest you.But movies are enjoyable,because there is more action and all different types of movies such as horrors,comedies,action,romance,and much much more.Some people may not like movies because they're not interested in them and like to read books instead but that's fine because furthermore you can get more out of reading a book than a movie,it can help you picture in your head what you are reading.

Some people love watching movies.Once they're start watching it they can't stop because it's really entertaining.Sometimes you can't predict what's going to happen next but maybe you can guess what's going to happen.Most movies can get you really hipped,like excited,but some can make you jump and you can get terrified,and might not like to watch that movie again.In some movies you may know what's going to happen next because you can predict it.There's all different types of movies for all ages from "children to adults"and I think that's great because everyone can enjoy the movie. However there are all sorts of books for all ages also and that's awesome! "Children and adults" can learn how to read if they don't know how, they might end up enjoying the book in the end.

In conclusion I personally think movies are way better than books.They give you more entertainment,and the acting is great! Shows you more, however books are great too,but movies are better in my opinion!

Essay English:Team Sport Is better than individual sport

"Team sport is better than individual sport"

I strongly agree that team sport is better because it can help with your self confidence and communication , some people may not like playing with a lot of people but others might like to

Team sport can help give you more opportunities to have fun,find someone else that has the same interest as you.It can help gain your confidence,say if you don't like the sport that others are playing you can give it a go if you wanted to.I know that some people don't play sport,or don't want to but if they get involved they might actually enjoy it.You can also get all of your friends and family together and see who has the same interest as you.

Being in a team sport would be better because you can support each other,even if someones makes a mistake you can train and work together as a team,communicating is key when your playing in a sport.Making sure everyone get's involved and has a good time.

I think Individual sport can be fun and peaceful, some people may like to do what they want,it can help build your knowledge and interest,for example you can try a whole lot of different types of sport if you didn't like the one you were playing.doing a sport that you enjoy is cool but you may want to join a team in the future to try it out.Not everyone likes sport or plays it,but that's okay you don't have to.

My point is that team sport is better because you can enjoy it and have more opportunities to try sports that interest you.

1.  Visual Special FX

A special way of helping a reader to imagine an unfamiliar scene, or to see a familiar scene through your eyes, is to use comparisons

(a) A simile

a comparison of two things usually using "like" or "as".

eg He ate the chocolate like a pig eating scraps.

(b) Metaphor

a comparison of two things where one is said to be the other.

eg He made a pig of himself with the chocolate.

Another powerful visual special effect is:

the giving of human qualities to nonhuman things.

eg The sun was angry.

2.  Sound Special FX

(a) Onomatopoeia 

words which sound like what they mean.

the repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of different words close together.

eg Bonzo builds bouncing babies.

Compare these two paragraphs:

Paragraph 1: The hunter fired, and the three deer bolted into the bush. He cursed, and ran after them.

Paragraph 2: Crack! The sound of the rifle echoed through the valley. At once the three deer bolted for the bush. "Blast," muttered the hunter, and crashed off through the trees after them.

• Both of these paragraphs are telling the same story. 
• The difference between the two is that the second one gets greater impact by using simple sound effects eg the use of such sound words (crack, muttered, crashed) is an easy way to add life and zip to your writing.

Throught this semester we have been doing a whole lot of different types of things such as Stencils,Stamping,Screen Printing,Block Printing and Batik.It has been really fun,I have been focused in claass.We drew this on some meterial with glue then pantied over it.

Gymnastics

In PE This term we have been doing Gymnastics.Some of the things I done was handstand,trampoline and forward roll.We had to get someone else to record us doing this to show our progress.One thing I done well is having confidence to try and do something even tho I said I wouldn't be able to do it.Next time I'm going to improve on trying new things.It was very challenging but it was fun at the same time.

Introduction
  Swimming lessons can help students learn how to swim if they don't know how.It will be good for our health because you keep fit at the same time.

People like to go swimming at places like pools,the beach maybe even at the lake or the river,but some people don't like swimming either they're to scared because they don't know how and may drown.In my opinion swimming is a lot of fun.

Swimming lessons are great because if you were at the beach or something and you didn't know how to swim and you were stuck in a rip than these lessons would help you.In my opinion I think that this is a great opportunity for all students to have a fun and learn things at the same time.

Swimming it encourages people to come together,you may have some friends and family that are interested in swimming and want to learn.Some students may not like swimming but it can help build your confidence and get other people to get into it.You may watch it on television,go to the pools or the beach to watch people swimming and having a good time.

Dangerous sport should be banned 

Sport you watch it,play it.I strongly disagree "dangerous sport should be banned because it can help you develop more skills.Children stay fit and so do adults 

Some sports are more dangerous then others,it would be unfair if dangerous sport would be banned because most sports are risky.It encourages us to get better,say if you really enjoy a sport and you want to participate but you can't because it is banned. Some people enjoy playing sport,going to the gym and you can stay fit while doing that.

Sport It encourages people such as friends and family to come together,work as a team and learn new things.You may have a friend that likes the same sport as you. Then you have something in common right?Some people may go to the pub,go to the park watch sport their,have some food,drinks and laughs together.People may say "I don't like this sport" but how do they know if they have never played it before?People always gets injured while playing a sport but that shouldn't have to get the point where dangerous sports get banned,that's most likely to be all sport.Just  because one person gets hurt in sport doesn't mean everyone else is going to get injured.

Some people get fit while going for runs,biking,working out at the gym.Younger children aren't aloud to go to the gym,so how are they supposed to stay fit? Children don't have to play sport if they don't want to but it can help develop skills,such as team work,communication.How are supposed to work with colleagues if you can't work alongside with others? This could help with your future Job if sport is something to do with your interest.

We come across sport mostly everyday,on the radio,on television,at the park,maybe at the pub as well.So why should sport be banned? It can be very helpful and we learn different things.Can make us have better confidence and gain communication,participation.Everyone has the right to play whatever sport they desire.

Persuasive discussion-English

Pathos-Pathos derives from the Greek word pathea.It means to evoke a  feeling already inside an audience or a reader.Usually,it elicits a feeling of sadness or pity.Speechwriters used this method to get people on their side.

Ethos-Ethos is like pathos but it deals with persuading people with ethics.It is when you're persuading them by using ideas of how a person is like,their morals and personal behaviour.It basically appeals to what a person thinks is right or wrong.

Logos-Logos is like the other two but you are persuading people with logic's.You used facts and logic to convince audiences or readers to get them on your side.Bloggers tend to use statistics to prove points that things are happening and a lot of stuff changes over the year. 

What are we doing?We are learning and researching about what pathos,ethos and logos mean.

Why are we doing it?We are doing it because we need to understand what persuasive discussion is.

How does the text construct a version of reality?Because the person/child looks cold and there are families out their that are struggling because of poverty.Another reason could be they don't have enough money to provide the things that they need.

Who benefits from this text? People like the Salvation Army help provide things for families that can't afford food,housing etc

Macbeth Questions

Valiant soldier or violent schemer at the beginning?

1.Macbeth was a Valiant soldier at the beginning,he was loyal to his king and served him with all his might.He became a war hero trying to defend his land from the traitors and the invaders.He became a violent schemer after the three witches gave Macbeth a Prophecy and his wife influencing him even more.

2.Why is he obsessed with killing Banquo?(oh yeah and fleance too)He is obsessed with killing Banquo because because of the prophecy which was told by the witch.It said that,he Macbeth,will become king but so will that son of Banquo as well wich is Fleance.So Macbeth thought that if he kills both he will have the life of royalty even more while Banquo and Fleance won't.

3.Has he completely lost it in the Banquet scene (do you think the Ghost is real or imaginary?i think that the ghost is imaginary?In the scene he still had a little bit of his sanity left in him because he was able to calm himself for a little bit.The ghost was imaginary in my opinion

4.Immediate and overpowering remorse.What's that about?Remorse is when you feel sorry or bad for something that you did and regret doing it.Immediate and overpowering remorse is what it says.When you do something really bad and you know it was the wrong thing to do you immediately realise that your actions are wrong and should not have been done in the first place,it gets in your head which is why it's overpowering 

5.He visits the witches for a second time.Why?How does he react?Because he wanted to know more about the witches and he was happy

A.Salmonella

Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) is a common bacteria disease that affects the intestinal tract.Salmonella bacteria typically live in animal and human intestines and are shed through feces. Humans become infected most frequently through contaminated water or food.

These foods are generally perishable foods that if not stored correctly will go bad within a few days.

Pathogenic Bacteria will start to grow on food that has been left out of fridge and sitting at room temperature for longer than 2 hours.

After 2 hours it will double 20 min
